My Story
My 13 year old son sustained nerve damage to his leg during surgery (they don't know how it happened, and we still don't have answers). He then developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) in his left foot, and overnight our lives fell apart.
He was in unbearable pain. Over the following months, he was hospitalised three times as doctors tried to manage his symptoms. During those hospital stays, he was given a cocktail of medications - including intravenous ketamine, oxycodone, and morphine - in an effort to ease the pain.
When the pain became completely unmanageable, the doctors administered an epidural. For a week, he couldn’t feel either of his legs, but at least for those seven days, he was free from pain.

Eventually, we were sent home with little more than a wheelchair and the words, “There’s not much more we can do.” He was still in constant pain, experiencing regular flare-ups that left him exhausted and hopeless.
He couldn’t bear anything touching his foot - even the lightest touch would trigger hours of agony. Showering his foot was impossible, and putting on a sock (which he needed because his foot was always cold!), made him cry out in pain. He missed a significant amount of school, and when he did attend, the medication left him with brain fog and unable to concentrate.
Watching my son suffer like that was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced. I was desperate to help him, and over time I tried everything I could find.. acupuncture, osteopathy, new medications, laser therapy, physiotherapy, and countless supplements. Nothing brought long term relief.
Then I discovered Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) — and it completely changed his life. By working with his nervous system and changing how his brain interpreted pain, the pain resolved, and the CRPS went.
I realised that all along, I had been trying to fix the wrong thing. I had been focusing on his foot, when the real issue was how his brain was processing pain.
Watching my son’s transformation inspired me to help others find the same freedom from pain. That’s what led me to train in Pain Reprocessing Therapy - so I could support others to rediscover hope, and get their life back. Contact me if you want to find out more about Pain Reprocessing Therapy.
